Leap Day on 29th February 2012 has been designated a special day in the calendar where good causes across the UK can get help, from volunteers and experts, entirely free - and no one loses out!

Leap day is an extra day that would normally be spent at work, but without any exta pay. We are urging companies, employees and the all people of Britain to give February 29 to a good cause.

Thousands of good causes and charities do great things, turning lives around, helping communities and preserving our heritage. None of this could happen without the selfless devotion of people. All we are asking is that for one day out of four years, the rest of us pitch in and help.

That's why we've created leapday.co.uk, a unique way to match up good causes, who need some help, with volunteers willing to step in.

If you run a cause, maybe you need someone to hand out leaflets, work a shift in a charity shop, help out with a community garden or even get some help with your website. All you need to do is add a task to our task list, it doesn't matter how big or small.

And if you don't run a cause, you can easily help one. If you know how to make websites; run a marketing campaign; garden; labour; understand social media, or if you just want some 'me time' painting a fence, you can do it all for a good cause.

Take the leap, this Leap Day, it's a good idea to help a good cause.
